At Southern Ocean Orthodontics, we take care of you and your family in a warm and friendly environment. Our patients and their families have frequent contact and open communication with Dr. Butler and his staff. Dr. John Butler has been with Southern Ocean Orthodontics since 2010. During this time he has had the privilege of successfully treating thousands of patients with every possible orthodontic problem. Dr. Butler loves his profession and enjoys teaching his families in treatment about how he utilizes the best technology to create an environment for safe and efficient tooth movement. His patient population ranges from children as young as 7 years old, up to and including senior citizens who always wanted to have a great smile. Dr. Butler is easy to talk to and wants to answer your questions. He is currently welcoming new patients.

Dr. Butler was born in NJ and currently lives in Manahawkin with his wife and two children. The only thing Dr. Butler loves more than braces and straight teeth is spending time with his two young daughters, Capri and Dolcessa.

Dr. Butler received his BA in Psychology from Rutgers University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple Dental School and was the recipient for many awards including “Most Outstanding Member” of his senior graduating class. He earned his Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from UMDNJ.

Dr. Butler has be recognized by his fellow dentists as one of the Top Dentists in NJ in 2018 and 2019 (published in NJ Monthly Magazine). Thousands of dental practitioners were asked who they would refer their patients in need of dental care. The survey takes into account education, experience and patient results. He was also voted for by families in treatment as a Top Kids Doc for the past 6 years in a row (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019) by NJ Family Magazine! He is very proud of this achievement as it shows he has many happy patients, which is what it’s all about!!
